The Legislative Branch has the power to make laws.  They also have the power to approve of judges and declare war.  There are two houses in the Legislative Branch, The House of Representatives and the Senate.  The Legislative Branch is also known as Congress.

To start it off I'm going to talk about the Senate.  The Senators are elected by the people.  They serve a 6 year term and every state has 2 senators.  There are a total of 100 U.S Senators.  To run for being a Senator you must be at least 30 years old and been a U.S. citizen for 9 years.

The second chamber in Congress is The House of Representatives.  There are a total of 435 representatives spread out among the states.  The bigger the population your state has, the more representatives you will have to represent it.  To be a representative you must be at least 25 years old and have been a U.S. citizen for 7 years.
